Charitable contribution outside the purchase contract okay?

I've tried researching this without luck.  Seller plans to donate most if not all of the sale proceeds to a particular charity.  Can buyer and/or someone on buyer's behalf agree to make a donation to same charity as part of purchase in order to a slightly lower purchase price?  I'm guessing the answer is no but wanted to make sure.
