Self directed IRAs - Has anyone invested in Realestate IRAs

I invested a portion of my IRA in a self directed IRA where I control the checkbook and bought two houses that I rent. All funds to support the houses comes from the IRA and all rental income returns to the IRA. Has anyone else used this methodology for investing in realestate?
