Out of state investors: Using VR/Robots to explore neighborhoods?

Bill Lin
Posted

Hi Out of State Investors,

Before buying a property remotely, I know it is sometimes not convenient or possible to visit the property in person. Currently, we use a variety of different methods as workarounds. Perhaps exploring the neighborhoods via Google Street View or asking here on bigger pockets.

I am doing research for a robotics startup. Our robot, Skippy, can be controlled using a computer or VR headset from anywhere geographically. While we are currently focused on using this robot for food delivery, I was wondering if this would be interesting to out of state investors.

How important is exploring the neighborhood to you before buying the property? How satisfied are you with existing solutions to do so remotely? If we offered a rental service that allowed you to control a robot and "walk" around the neighborhood, would this be useful for you?

Thank you so much for your insights
