Want to do House Hacking but not possible where I live
Hi so I’ve been searching for a home I can house hack in within my pay range for about a year now in Seattle. It feels impossible so was thinking about what if I just got into my first home like even a super affordable condo or townhouse just so I can stop paying rent to my landlord and then in a year maybe rent it out and find something better etc where I can maybe do the house hacking.
My question is if I can’t do house hacking and I want to live in Seattle is the next best thing just try and get my own place so I stop praying rent? Thank you in advance.

@Vandana R. - we're on our 4th HouseHack here in Seattle, and looking closely at our market I think its once of the best in the country for the HouseHacking strategy. If you share your price point I think we'll be able to give more helpful advice about whether HouseHacking or buying a condo/townhome would make the most sense.
I've helped clients secure Single Family HouseHacks from $380k - $1,400,000; the strategy is really flexible, and I think if you have a high enough pre-approval to be looking at Townhomes there's a good chance that the pre-approval is also high enough for a good househack. Don't give up!
Happy to talk about your options 1-1 as well if you're not comfortable sharing $ amounts in the forum - just shoot me a message if so. Cheers!
