PenFed HELOC Homestead Exemption
I have investment properties in Dallas area and I am currently working with Penfed to do HELOCs on these properties. After going through all the hoops the processor has rejected my HELOC applications because they insist that I file a Homestead exemption. I called the county and they said I have to be a primary resident to file the homestead exemption. These are investment properties! I am not sure how Penfed first claimed that I could do HELOCs on investment properties and now the processor is saying I can't because I can't file the Homestead exemption. Is there any way to get around this? Thanks!
