It's good to have a diversified portfolio folks. REI is great but it is not the total picture.

if the world collapses, you will need a Colt 45 and an AR 15.

I have never understood metals.  There is nothing inherently valuable there.  They have value solely through consent - the same as any other currency (including Dollars, Rubles, Yen and Bitcoin).
