Learning about the great state of Texas
Hello Texans and non-Texans, looking to educate myself on that state and drill down to a specific market. That will probably be the place I retire to in 6 years. A bit about me, I'm currently in the Army overseas and educating myself on the various strategies of REI. I know for a fact once I am complete with this current duty station (2023) I will be ready to invest. The phase I'm in is the debt paydown/education phase. Any and all information is welcome.

@Anthony W. Thanks for your service. Spent 10 years in the Army myself. I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. What is great about this market is such a diversity of industries that employ people that the area is relatively recession proof. Also, it is a very strong market for owning rental single family residences. Even during this pandemic I have had two rentals come vacant and new tenants moved in at $50 per month higher rents as soon as we completed the make ready.
