Landlocked in Kilgore,TX

Hello All,

I am new to the community but have read several amazing interactions on this site! So I am confident that I will find the answers that I seek.

This past weekend, we drove from Houston,TX to a family reunion in Kilgore,TX. This trip was a double bonus for me ie enjoy family and also check out the land that my family owns for the first time since I was a kid. Well, it turns out that some family members sold their land around our plot. Now the area has mobile homes/houses and parts are fenced off. To my surprise, there is no clear access to our property without going thru somebody's private property. The dirt road that my parents used to use is no longer there. We are landlocked. The locals didn't take to kindly to us trying to reach our parcel of land. I have read about an easement but with our conversation with neighbors, I am less than optimistic. Is there any advice anyone can give me with actionable steps? Has anyone had this issue before?

Thanks in advance,

Trey

You need to talk to a real estate attorney. To get an easement filed or enforce one if there is already one on the title
