Hey guys I am looking for a real estate agent in the North Dallas area. Preferably one with years of investing experience. I am moving from Illinois to Aubrey Texas and am wanting to get setup on the MLS with a criteria so I can begin getting email alerts. If you or someone you know is in the local area please let me know! Thanks

@William Kelly welcome to Texas! The Dallas-Fort Worth area is now the 4th largest metro in the country. We were ranked as the #1 or #2 city to invest in for the past 5 years by Forbes. While it has cooled down some here in many ways it is still a sellers market. Most of us do not find deals on the MLS. It's just too competitive and you have to compete against every person who watches HGTV. It is still possible to find deals but you have to be extremely vigilant and determined. It would probably be more advantageous to just reach out to EXPIRED listings rather than MLS listings.

You can certainly still follow that formula but most of us use some type of wholesaler.  And in general, it's better to work with smaller wholesalers than larger ones.

Anyway, feel free to check out meetup.com for some REI clubs or even on the Bigger Pockets forums there will be some groups that post. Happy Hunting!
