San Marcos STR Regulations

San Marcos City Council unanimously enacted new STR regulations yesterday (7/18/17). Here are excerpts from an article you can see at KXAN News:

The Texas Senate approved SB 451, which would prevent Texas cities from banning short-term rentals and limit their ability to write ordinances restricting STRs. However, the the companion Texas House bill, HB 2551, was left pending in committee at the end of the latest regular legislative session. Unless it is taken up during the current special session, it would be at least another two years before short-term rental regulations get a hearing at the state level.
