Need a little advice about buying with Medicade

Hello all, I figured I would give this forum a shot to see if there were any real estate attorneys out there or an investor who has come across a
similar scenario. This particular property has been vacant for 10 years, the owner is behind on taxes on the home as well. I noticed the property sold at the recent tax sale but is still within the redemption period. Unfortunately, I missed the sale that day due to other obligations. I pulled the deed that names three owners, the majority owner of which is in a state facility with Medicaid benefits. I spoke to her son, who is also her power of attorney. He said we would love to sell the home but were told we could not sell any properties in her name due to the possibility of losing benefits. It does not seem right to me that the other owners would be restricted from selling due to this issue. My question is if one of the other owners filed a partition sale and sent the property to foreclosure would this still jeopardize her benefits for Medicaid? The second option, what if I were to pay the property taxes to date with the permission of the owners and essentially send the property to foreclosure as a lien holder? Are there any simple solutions to this situation?
