York County Pennsylvania Property Tax Question

Hey BP,

I'm an out of state investor who has an opportunity to buy a single family home in New Cumberland off market. The current taxes are $2,929 with a homestead exemption. How much more will my taxes be as a non occupying owner? Our plan is to purchase the property and rent it out for a few years until we are able to move to the area. I'm thinking we can make it work as long as the property don't kill us. Here in the Charleston SC area non occupying owners pay 3x as much for property taxes as opposed to primary residents.

Thanks in advance!

Brad, I own properties in that market. I don't believe the taxes are any higher just because its under homestead.  $3K for taxes is pretty average price for an average sized home. If you want to discuss; let me know. kevin
