The fastest growing county in PA is Cumberland in the Harrisburg area.  Largest employer is the state governmrny and the second largest is the Federal government with multiple Army and Navy bases and civilian activities.  Hbg is scheduled for a new Federal building.  There are lots of warehouse and shipping operations.  Amazon has 2 large facilities, as well as Wayfare, Whirlpool, and others.

According to HUd, the AVERAGE 2 br rent here is $1,012.  There is a new comples in Mechanicsburg, where the 1 br rent is $1,095 and 2 brs are $1,295, and they built over 300 units and are looking to build 300 more.

Property prices are reasonable and lower than larger metro areas like Philly, NYC, and Wash. DC which are 100, 200 and 100 miles away respectively.

State income tax is flat rate 3.07% which is lower than neioghboring states of NY,NJ and MD. and home prices are cheaper than those states.
