Looking to start Vacation Rental Properties

ABQ resident that's new to real estate. I am interested in investing in single family homes to turn into vacation rental properties. Anyone have experience doing this and have any insight on what to look for in the market? I am really looking to acquire low and renovate, ideally properties near the ski resorts or mountains. Any help would be really appreciated. - Mason
