Soon to be Military Veteran looking for REI advice in MA/RI/NH

What's going on guys? My name is Eraldo Custodio and I am 25 years old. In about 13-15ish months my military contract will expire and I will once again become a civilian. 

I will be going back home to good old Massachusetts and am looking at starting off my REI career by house hacking. I have multiple plans in life but I would like to start off on the right foot with some good cash flow.

If there are any tips, leads, advice, and guidance you are willing to give me, please do! I am like a sponge right now and super interested in the Real Estate Investment side of the world!
