Deciding whether to use a PM in Boston

Hi everyone,

I'm hopefully purchasing a rental property in Boston (some sort of condo or duplex in Eastie, Dorchester, South Boston, Seaport) soon but am wondering whether I should hire a PM. I've yet to hear anything good reviews about using a PM but don't necessarily have the time/desire to mange my own property, despite being local.

I generally think the fee is worth it if I don't have to constantly worry about the property, and don't mind the hit to my cash flow since this investment is absolutely driven by appreciation.

Would love to get some opinions on self managing vs. hiring a PM, specifically in the Boston area. Or if you have any recommendations, I'm all ears. Thanks!
