Tenancy or Ownershop

Good day to all:

First I attempted to find a previous discussion about this and not be a repeater.   Quick question .. The word "Tenancy" is this term meaning Tenants as in Renters?  Or is it the same meaning as Ownership?  I started studying for Real Estate License and I'm confused about the terms.  I apologize if this sounds foolish but don't know where else to ask.
