Flood Insurance in Augusta Maine

Hi All - looking to hear some feedback / recommendations for a flood insurance policy within Kennebec County Maine. Really appreciate any advice in advance.

Outline of my situation: Flood insurance premiums are rising higher than anticipated. A few years ago it was 4k/yr, now it's nearly 6k/yr. I know Kennebec is on the high end for premiums but the rapid increase seems exorbitant. The building I own is on along the river and we have had flood damage in the past, so not totally unexpected when seeing the high rate.

My insurer: Wright National Flood Insurance Company.

Are others seeing similar raises in flood insurance premiums? Any companies or agents you can recommend me talking with?

Thanks so much!

Looking for flood insurance companies that offer coverage in the Augusta area.

Michael. Have your agent shop the "Private Market" (non-NFIP) programs. Companies/programs such as AON, DUAL, TFIA, Neptune, Etc. Often one of them can provide a better rate. The prior loss may be an issue with some of them so be sure to let the agent know about it.
