Thoughts on Metairie Area (just North of New Orleans)?

Ashley Vranek
Posted

Does anyone have rental properties in the Metairie, LA area? I am considering investing in a few value add mulit family properties. Looking to hold 3-5 years. Was wondering your thoughts on the Market and the risk level concerning hurricane season? Appreciate any feedback, thank you!

Its a very hot market right now and houses are flying off the shelf. If you intend to sell in 3-5 years it is risky as you are buying in a sellers market and 3-5 years may or may not be there. Hurricanes are a real risk as with everywhere near the gulf coast. You need to make sure that you have room in your budget to have good insurance
