north Louisiana real estate

Hi all,

I'm originally from Louisiana, but have lived in Los Angeles for 20 years.  In a few years, I'll be retiring and moving back home.  I spent 11 years in Monroe at NLU/ULM, and my family lives in and around Alexandria.  My question is this: is there any kind of real estate/flipping market in north Louisiana?  I see there is some kind of market in Shreveport, but I'm wondering about the central to northeast portion of the state.  Any ideas, suggestions, and anecdotes are welcome.  Thank you.

Katie
