Boundaries and acreage

Jeremy Stanton
Posted

I've been trying to buy recreational/vacation acreage for almost a year now. I live in Ohio and plan to keep residence hear. Are there ever any rural properties in Kentucky with certified acreage and boundaries? I don't want to have to guess if I'm still on my property or if I've trespassed onto my neighbor's. Surveyors are estimating services at $30000-40000 depending on terrain and it would be stupid of me to pay $30000 to survey 50 acres. I don't want to be landlocked either. What is it with Kentucky? My hunting app constantly shows properties I'm interested in to be well below the listed acreage. Why is Kentucky like this? Some people might like it like this to use the gray area to access a few extra acres but I'm not that kind of person. I don't want my land trespassed on because I won't trespass on anyone else.
