What to do with my former tenants debts?
Good day everyone,
This may not be the right place for my post, but I don’t know where it could fit. Namely, the guy to whom I rented my apartment has made a mess out of my life. How could he do it, you may ask. Well, he seems to have got into terrible debts while he was renting my apartment. What’s even worse, he just vanished a few months ago without paying the last rent.
What do I have to do with this? Well, letters from his bank keep coming to my address. My daughter lives there now and she finds this really disturbing. One day, I was so furious that I opened one of the letters to see what was going on. I know, it’s rude of me to do such a thing, but had no better idea what to do.
Well, the thing is that the guy owes to his bank thousands of dollars as he kept depositing money to various online casinos. I even wasn’t aware of whether it’s legal here or not. The last thing I need is the police disturbing my daughter for something she hasn’t done. But after reading articles like this https://bang.ro/online-gambling-in-the-usa-is-it-legal/, I realized that the guy didn’t do anything so bad (except getting himself into terrible debts).
Back to my question. Have you got any ideas what I should do with those letters? Should I give the bank a call or pay it a visit? Or should I just throw them away as if nothing happened?
