So I talk to the lender today that was apparently paying Bigger Pockets for marketing. He seem legitimate etc. My question is does Bigger Pockets verify that a lender is not some scam artist?

@Joe S. Any legitimate lender will have no problem with others asking about them. Some, as the one you described, may not be scammers, but simply not knowledgable. There are many trying to “broker” loans for some supposed lender with lots of money to lend, who have no clue what they’re doing.
