How do you decompress?

Hey everyone,

My post is a little off topic from real estate but i think it's important to talk about but before I begin, I'd like to give you some background of what I am going through. I'm a new investor with zero properties and MAN! its been a wild ride so far and I haven't even scratched the surface. I live in Charlotte, NC and our market is extremely competitive. People are buying homes for way over asking price, site unseen which makes it tough for someone in my position to get started. Now, that doesn't mean that I will give up it means that I will continue to learn and keep pushing forward. My wife and I started our real estate journey less than 1 year ago and we are super eager to get started BUT we are not in a rush to buy a bad deal. We have put in multiple offers, ran the numbers on a TON of properties and it's insane how a house that was worth $120k 1 year ago is now listed for $200k and is SELLING for $225k+. With the foreclosure forbearance hopefully coming to an end soon, that will bring in a lot more inventory in the future which may make it easier for us but I think our goal is to focus on building capital. Definitely stressful but honestly, I love it and I can't stop thinking about real estate and where we will be in 15 years...

So with that being said, How do you decompress?

I decompress by training Jiu Jitsu and photography. These two things allow me to stop thinking about the stresses of work, real estate and every day life. To me there's nothing better than training and getting choked out then shooting and editing beautiful photos of extremely unpractical cars.

Feel free to tell us how you deal with stress and how your real estate journey has been so far.

thanks for reading!

Best,
