Abandoned Leased Vehicle

Hi guys! I can’t seem to find any info on this: I leased a car from a private owner and he has been sent off to prison and I guess for a while. He hasn’t tried to contact me and I can’t find his family anywhere to try to make the payments. What should I do? I want to keep the vehicle if I can!
