Discipline with money

I wish I could get into real estate, How are you guys discipline with money despite the school system never taught children how to be disciplined with money.

I have to agree with @Chris Martin.  The easiest way to get control of your finances is to get through Dave Ramsey Baby Steps 1-3.  The first thing it does is makes you aware of where every dollar you make is going.  Everyone I know that has gone through it realizes they are making restaurants rich.  The 2nd and more important step is to find a local investor and figure out how you can help him.  I have found that the best mentors are found organically.  Meaning you need to become friends first and the mentorship will come.  As the saying goes, the RE business is a contact sport.  The guys on HGTV are not showing you the real numbers.  They say they put in kitchen cabinets for $1,500 it will cost you $4,500 ;-)
