Do investors value virtual assistants?

Hey BP,

Hoping to get some insight on this topic!

I currently work in acquisitions for an investment company as a 1099 employee. It’s been great thus far and over the course of my time with this group I have learned a tremendous amount about real estate acquisitions and analyzing deals.

With that said I have been debating if I should stay with the company and look for part time W-2 work, or leave completely in search for a full time W-2 position (preferably still real estate related). My ultimate goal is to become more and more financeable as I aim to build upon my portfolio of buy and hold property (currently 1 door). We all know that low debt to income and a seasoned W-2 seems to be the best tools when working with banks.

Knowing a few things..

1. I’m looking for a W-2 income to become more bankable.

2. I still want a job that provides me with growth by enhancing my knowledge as a real estate investor.

3. I live in Southern California but invest in my home state of Michigan so I would prefer it to be a virtual position. This would allow me to be out of state for the few months out of the year when I’m working on my next project in my portfolio.

4. I am extremely detail oriented and self motivated especially when it comes to real estate and absorbing real estate knowledge.

5. I am great with computers, social media, and have always been a math mind.

.. it dawned on me that there may be real estate investors out there that employ full time virtual assistants! Especially in light of the pandemic and huge virtual shift that we are seeing in business. This seemed like a great opportunity for me to check off all my “boxes” while providing value to, and creating a relationship with, an investor that’s doing much bigger things than me.

My question:

Would pursuing a job as a real estate investor’s virtual assistant seem to make sense like I think it does? And if so, where would one go to be paired with an investor looking to hire this kind of help?

What other W-2 position may make sense in my situation?

Thank you for any insight! I really appreciate it!!
