10 acres, Should I build single fam or simple 2br quadplex?

Hello everyone,

My dad owns 10 acres and only has 1 double wide trailer on the land. He owes back taxes on it and wants to sell it. I told him that I wanted to do something with the land. Would it be a better to build a couple single family homes on the land or find a good general contractor to build multiple quadplexes or other multi family homes? I am new to real estate and want to dive into this and take advantage of this opportunity that is in front of me.
