Business Laptops - What do you recommend?

My 5+ year old MacBook Air is about to die, and I need a new laptop. I will be using the laptop for basic email, writing articles, business management, etc. I'm an OOS investor and use my current laptop for just normal computer stuff.

Looking for recommendations! Also where is the best place to get a good deal? (I'm military if that helps)

Desired Characteristics:

1. Lightweight due to frequent travel

2. Ability to connect to dock/hub for connecting to monitors while at home (USB-C or HDMI port i believe?)

3. PC based laptop. I've had Macs for years, but I'm ready to switch to PC based for the better pricing. I don't need to be plugged into the Mac universe anymore.

4. Webcam. Doesn't need to be super high quality, but I do Zoom/Meet calls frequently.

5. Budget - no more than $1,000.

I will be not be doing any gaming or video editing or anything like that. Lightweight and good battery life is desired over high performance.

Thanks!

@Doug Spence

I landed on the ASUS from Best Buy. Last year my MAC pooped the bed too, and at the best time, during finals and at the high of the pandemic in California. I think the brand name is Harman and was under $1000. It has been a great work computer so far, and I have not had any issues.

Sincerely

Josh
