Gas Meter Inside Apartment Unit

Javier Maya
Posted

I’m interested in buying a two flat. I went to view the units today, and noticed that one of the units has the gas meter inside the house coming down from the ceiling.

Is it possible to relocate the gas meter outside? If so, how much would that cost?

I’m in the Chicago area.

Thanks in advance

@Jonathan Klemm - here is an article on it

It started a few years ago, I don't know of a planned schedule but they basically tear up your street and a few weeks later knock on your door and say they have to move your meters.  I have done it twice already, it wasn't that big of a PITA except for the parking situation for a month
