Foundation issue in 5 yr old house
A friends home was built by Meritage homes in Houston, TX. It was built in 2014 and she’s seeing cracks in the floor starting from the garage and into the house as well. She had an inspector come in to assess and he mentioned the max was about 1.8 cm of settling in one of the rooms and it was nothing to worry about. The builders warranty is for 10 years and she’s wondering if she should have the builder fix the foundation issue. Can the experts here suggest the best route to take?
