Need guidance, buying a home or a car?

Hello,

Im having trouble deciding what is the best long term decision, I’m 27 married and I am a veteran as well. I live in Long Island New York. My wife and I have saved up some money over the past year. Our ultimate goal is to get a home in the future. We have saved up some money, would it be smart to buy a new car out cash? Or get a loan and pay more than I should each month or just keep saving to get a home? Regardless of the fact my wife does need a car for her job.

I know that maybe we should buy a used car but we want to get a new car. Our goal is to get a home as soon as we can afford it, what would be the best choice and pros and cons.

Thank you for taking your time to answer me.
