Borrowing Against Retirment

I have been thinking about borrowing against my 401k to get started in investing. I’m under 30 and my goal is financial freedom starting with real estate investing. I know the risks associated with borrowing against my retirement, but it still doesn’t seem that crazy to me. Can anyone back that up or is everyone in agreement that this is not a smart thing to do?
