I spent 5 days in sub standard housing . And survived

The last 5 days I spent in some of the worst housing conditions imaginable . First there was no electricity , I was living in a 6 by 8 building with no insulation , no screens and a damp wood floor . The roof leaked during a thunderstorm . There was no running water , the bathroom was 2 toilets shared by 35 people . Food was provided , but rationed and we had to clean up behind us . No air conditioning with temps over 85 and high humidity . Showers were shared with 500 other people and was a 1/2 mile from where we lived .  We were woken up at 3 am to the sound of automatic weapon fire and a team of guys with flashlights chasing the thieves away . Unfortunatly they did steal some food 15 ft from where I was sleeping ripping my bag to ribbons  in the process .

This wasnt in a city or a war zone or in a camp holding illegal aliens . This was 5 days in the Virginia mountains . Boy Scout camping .Bears raided our camp and they has a paint ball gun with marbles to shoot the bears . The bears  were 15 feet from my canvass tent . It was rather enjoyable most of the time . Probably walked 40 miles in that time . 

This was a beautiful piece of real estate , there was a lake , docks , 300 acres in the mountains of Goshen Va .
