Anyine have experience with cracks in concrete walls?
I don’t think I can attach pictures but long story short, I’m purchasing a property on Roofstock and have paid the $500 Roofstock fee and $1500 initial payment to open escrow.
The property has already been inspected and all repairs including the cracks on the concrete walls have been estimated at a little over $1000. The inspection report said that the foundation is fine and that the cracks need to be sealed and painted.
I am concerned because it looks like the cracks include a shift of about an inch or so but I have zero experience with these things. I don’t know what causes the concrete blocks (walls of the house) to crack like that and am worried about an underlying issue that will lead to expensive structural problems that I will be liable for if I purchase.
It’s located in savannah Georgia. Anyone know if this is a common issue?
Thank you
Rob
