What is it about real estate?

Why are you in real estate? What was the source of your motivation?

For me, I grew up with it. My dad was a professional and my mom bought and managed the apartment buildings. I spent my summers painting and cleaning apartments - we lived in a college town, so there was alot of turnover in the summer months. My mother loved to look at new possible purchases and I loved to go along. My grandmother had rentals.

What inspired you? Books, late-night TV, family?

Hey Rob,

Sounds very familiar. My mother brought me a deal when I was 16 or 17. It was a condo conversion (one apartment) and I had enough for the downpayment. She said she would manage it for me. Fast forward 30+ yrs. I found my (then) 20yr old a hud foreclosure. He had the dp in mutual funds and savings. He's now 22 with a great job and a great investment. But I don't think it's "in his blood", if you know what I mean.
