Do not ever under estimate the power of Social Media and how beneficial it can be when you have something to say. Between my younger brother and I we have over 90,000 followers on Twitter and most who interact with us have an interest in real estate. That number of followers carries a lot of weight.

My brother got caught up in the storm this past weekend while speaking to a group of real estate investors in New York City. He was being charged a change fee by Delta Airlines because he had to stay an extra night in New York even after his flight was cancelled by Delta.

He made 1 tweet alerting his 43,000 followers how upset he was with Delta and that he was considering moving his frequent flyer status to American. He hash tagged Delta and American on his tweet. Within 15 minutes, not only did he have offers from American to give him status, but he heard from Delta and the apologies and refund process began.

Keep in mind, this was after spending over an hour on the phone and going as high as he could go with Delta customer service He was finally told there was nothing they could do for him.

48 hours later he has the money back in his account. Social Media is very powerful!
