Advice on life decisions

Hey BP community. I would love some input on l personal goals and setting a new path in 2019. My partner and I are both teachers. I have completed my real estate license and have started transitioning to self employment/starting a business. We live in Denver.

My question is this. If you wanted to live in a smaller area to raise a little family, start a business around real estate. Where would you go?

Fine with smaller metro areas, up and coming or rebounding markets. We love it out west and have family in Michigan so that's where we will be looking for opportunities. Thanks BP community.
