Career decisions. What to do?

I will be leaving the military in a year. I’ve been thinking about becoming a real estate agent, an aircraft mechanic which is my background in the military or working in law-enforcement. I have a bachelors degree in criminal justice. (Not super excited to be a cop in today’s day and age though.) My long-term goal is to be a full-time real estate investor. I plan on using the money I make from my career to buy properties and use my wife’s source of income to cover the bills while I build my business. I like the idea of becoming a real estate agent because I would be my own boss and the income is truly up to me. The downside is no guaranteed income or benefits but it would be a good learning experience and beneficial to have my real estate license for investing. Should I take the safe route and get a full-time job that I’m not as interested in with benefits and a guaranteed monthly paycheck or dive in as an agent? What makes the most sense?
