Solo 401k rental investments

I am self employed and I was thinking about opening a solo 401k to roll over some money form a previous employer to invest in real estate rental. I was wondering if all the income I earn from using the solo 401k to invest have to go into the 401k plan, and I would not be able to use any of it for personal uses ?
