Accounting First Job

Hello All,

I just graduated with an accounting degree and I' am searching for my first job. My end goal is to be working full-time with real estate investors as their CPA.

So my question is.....should I work in a public accounting firm and develop some general experience with accounting, or should I go straight into the real estate industry trying to learn as much about real estate as I can? The problem with going to real estate right away is I don't want to pigeonhole myself too early in my career.

If anybody here is an accountant or knows someone who is an accountant that has taken a similar path, please give me advice or suggestions.

Thanks
