Requirements for choosing a CCTV Cam

Hi everyone, I am here to get some suggestions. Last week one of my neighbors in my residential area had very bad fate. It was very distressing to hear that his car was stolen. Even now the query is going on and I am hoping that he would get his car soon. After this case, the residents here had a meeting to spread awareness on security. So now my wife is compelling me to install a CCTV cam at our home. I have never thought about setting up such a system in our house. So can you please assist me in getting the best cam in my house. While surfing online I came across an article http://protectionplus.ca/blog/what-are-the-legal-requirements-for-installing-cctv-cameras/ and it points out the things that should be taken care off while buying a security cam. I am completely confused. Can you please help me with some good suggestions. Thanks in advance.
