Solar Panels a Good Investment?
What do you think of putting solar panels on my personal residence? I have about $50-75k I wanted to do something with, and I was thinking this was the lowest hanging fruit. Currently I am paying $225 a month in electric, and I assume in 20 years that will be $400 a month. You can pay yourself back in 7-8 years for the panels and installation, and thereafter it's free electricity. The government paying for 55% of your investment is an incredible subsidy, which torques up the IRR fabulously. Am I making any mistake in my thinking?
