Article on History of John Jacob Astor
Read this in the Real Deal magazine and thought it was pretty neat. I always go by Astor place in the city, but never knew who the guy was.
Even back in the 1800's he was looking for awesome deals on real estate.
"In one case he picked up an entire city block of Harlem, which was estimated to be worth $1 Million for $2,000."!!
