Tornadoes in Washington, IL - videos by homeowners inside homes

Just used the Zip Code search for a Pro for the city of Washington, IL. They were devastated with the tornadoes in IL last week. I see we have 4 members listed as living in the city itself - although none are active users.

If anyone wants to see and/or hear what it's like to be in a house in a tornado, a couple of people ran video cameras as the tornado hit their homes. Below are links to youtube videos.

**NOTE** the language is raw (swearing) as you may expect from somebody living through this.

The first link is a guy and his daughter. He dives into an interior room (bathroom I assume).

To see the tornado approach, hear the sounds of a house being torn apart, then seeing the aftermath only a minute later - heartbreaking.

The next video is taken by somebody who waited way too long (in my opinion) to get in a safe room.

My son is a meteorology student and texted me that the tornadoes were heading our way. I live about 100 miles from Washington, IL. Our city tornado sirens went off and we went into the basement. A tornado touched down about 2 miles from us but mostly in a farm field and tossed around a landscaper's equipment and leveled some barns.

Not much you can do if you're in the path. But these videos show you should get shelter - and maybe NOT video it hitting your yard...
