Looking for your #1 book to read

I haven't read a single book in many years. I have listened to hundreds if not thousands of podcasts. I want a book to highlight and mark up but don't know where to begin. I get a little overwhelmed when standing in front of and staring down the shelves of thousands of books at Barnes and Nobles. Please Help
