First-Time Home Buyer Questions
I am moving to Dallas either the end of June or beginning of July due to a job offer upon graduating this spring. I am a first time home buyer and have plenty of questions. Most of my questions right now are questions relating to getting the home loan. From what I have heard from some realtor's offices, the lowest down payment one can expect right now is about 3.5%. There is also closing costs like commissions that I have been told to expect around 3%, so I need to prepare to have around 6.5% available. We would be looking at houses $250k and below. Some of my siblings that have purchased houses in Utah and Idaho have said that they didnt need to make that much of a down payment, and one of them was able to build their down payment into the loan itself. Forgive me for being ignorant, but has anyone had experience with this? I am just worried about having enough money to purchase the home as well as have enough to cover moving costs. Any help is much appreciated.
