Thoughts on Laie STR Boom?

Hi everyone! Recently moved back to Oahu. Any thoughts on Laie STR investments? It seems like a more affordable way to start real estate investing than in-town multiunit complexes that offer low cash flow returns. Anyone have good/bad stories?

Also are there any real estate investing clubs that meet around the island? I'm just starting out and getting my feet wet.
