Georgia (Savannah) Rental Property Taxes Question
Hi,
I'm a Realtor and investor in Charleston. Our market has gotten pretty tough for finding reasonably priced rentals. A lot of the guys and gals I talk to are looking into other markets until our area cools down. Deals are still here, but not in abundance and I'd like to get familiar with another market in case I do come across a better deal in another state. I would like to start getting some ideas on holding costs in different areas, specifically tax rates. In SC, we get a lower tax assessment as owner occupants and a much higher ration for secondary properties. Is there a similar program in Georgia? All I've seen online is income tax information for rental income. It appears as though there aren't multiple tax rates for different residential purposes, but I wanted to ask any investors in GA what I need to know. I'm also hoping to find an investor friendly Realtor in the Savannah area. Any recommendations?
