Mobile Home Dealer's License in Florida

Mario Mateo
Posted

Hello everyone:

This is my first post to the forum and I hope I could get some help.  I recently been looking at investing in mobile homes.  I was able to download the book by Lonnie Scruggs, which seems to be excellent.  I'm also looking into John Fedro's mentoring program.  However, I have a major dilemma.  In Florida, anyone selling more than one mobile home per year is required to have a dealer's license.  I looked at the statute and the FL. DMV's licensing guidelines, and even spoke to the regional office regarding licensing.  I was advised that I needed to have a commercial location that was big enough to display the mobile homes I would sell.  I explained that most of the homes would either be at mobile homes parks or private land, and consequently, I would not need a location that big.  Has anyone come across this specific problem?  If so, how was it handled?  I appreciate your help.  Take care.

Mario
